El Ministerio de Defensa investiga nuevas acusaciones de que el Comando de Inteligencia de Defensa (DIC) apoyó a un estudiante de posgrado que afirmó haber volado un dron hacia Corea del Norte, según declaró un funcionario del gobierno.
El medio de comunicación digital Newstapa informó previamente que el hombre, de apellido Oh, es sospechoso de operar dos empresas camufladas como medios digitales que en realidad realizan actividades de inteligencia en apoyo del DIC y de recibir 10 millones de wones (6.783 dólares), citando a fuentes de seguridad.
Un funcionario del Ministerio de Defensa afirmó que el ministerio participa en un equipo conjunto militar-policial que investiga el caso y apoya una investigación rápida y exhaustiva, declinando proporcionar más detalles debido a que la investigación está en curso.
Se espera que el equipo verifique el informe y determine si el DIC estuvo involucrado en la incursión con drones.

The defense ministry is looking into fresh allegations that the Defense Intelligence Command (DIC) supported a graduate student who claimed to have flown a drone into North Korea, a government official said..
Online news outlet Newstapa earlier reported that the man, surnamed Oh, is suspected of operating two companies disguised as online outlets that actually carry out intelligence activities in support of the DIC and of receiving 10 million won ($6,783), citing security sources.
A defense ministry official said the ministry is participating in a joint military-police team investigating the case and supports a swift and thorough probe, declining to provide further details due to the ongoing investigation.
The team is expected to verify the report and determine whether the DIC was involved in the drone incursion.
Earlier this month, North Korea claimed South Korea had violated its sovereignty through drone incursions in September last year and on Jan. 4, with Kim Yo-jong, the powerful sister of leader Kim Jong-un, demanding that Seoul admit to and apologize for the incidents.
South Korea’s military has denied the claims, saying the drones in question were not operated by the military.
In a televised interview last week, Oh claimed he had sent the drone to North Korea. He previously served as the head of a conservative youth group and also worked at the presidential office during former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s term.

De igual forma, se extiende a áreas de fisiología poscosecha, desarrollo de alimentos funcionales, diagnóstico veterinario, ganadería de precisión, tecnologías de aprovechamiento de residuos, mejoramiento de alimentos animales mediante microorganismos, agricultura digital y sistemas sanitarios y fitosanitarios, explicó.
INDIA AND ARGENTINA STRIKE 2025-27 AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
Both countries have reaffirmed their commitment to a bilateral scientific partnership
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Argentina’s National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) have signed a bilateral agreement on agricultural collaboration in natural resource management and sustainable agronomy, encompassing zero tillage, mechanization, micro-irrigation, and fertigation.
The pact also covers plant and animal biotechnology, livestock improvement, production technologies for temperate and tropical crops, digital agriculture, biosecurity and phytosanitary measures, and value chain development.
Implementation will be carried out through joint research, germplasm exchange, expert participation, structured training programs, and study visits to cover greenhouse vegetable production, floriculture, and temperate zone fruits.
Similarly, it extends to areas of post-harvest physiology, functional food development, veterinary diagnostics, precision livestock farming, waste utilization technologies, animal feed improvement through microorganisms, digital agriculture, and sanitary and phytosanitary systems, it was explained.
The exchange of germplasm will include soybeans, sunflowers, corn, blueberries, citrus fruits, wild papaya, and guava species, and selected horticultural crops, the authorities also mentioned.
The Indian Ministry added that both countries were also deepening cooperation in oilseed and legume value chains, agricultural mechanization, and horticulture value chain development with infrastructure and seed exchange.
In terms of plant and animal health, region-specific foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) eradication strategies and greater collaboration in locust surveillance and control are planned through technical exchanges and best practices.
Additionally, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to a bilateral scientific partnership and agreed to conduct annual monitoring and review to ensure effective implementation and progress.
LA PRESIÓN CHINA DEMUESTRA QUE NO TIENE AUTORIDAD SOBRE TAIWÁN: LAI
El presidente William Lai afirmó que la presión transfronteriza ejercida por el gobierno chino sobre los taiwaneses solo sirve para demostrar que la autoridad pública de Pekín no se extiende a Taiwán, lo que demuestra que no forma parte de la República Popular China.

CHINESE PRESSURE PROVES IT HAS NO AUTHORITY OVER TAIWAN: LAI
President William Lai said that cross-border pressure exerted by the Chinese government on Taiwanese only serves to demonstrate that Beijing’s public authority does not extend to Taiwan, proving that it is not part of the People’s Republic of China.
Lai was attending a graduation ceremony for the 62nd class of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau’s investigation training program.
His remarks came after China sanctioned two Cabinet ministers, accusing them of “separatism.”
Minister of the Interior Liu Shyh-fang and Minister of Education Cheng Ying-yao were added to Beijing’s list of “Taiwanese independence diehards,” while Chen Shu-yi of the High Prosecutors’ Office was named as an “accomplice.”
Speaking to reporters ahead of the ceremony, Lai said that, as president, he was proud of anyone subjected to China’s cross-border repression.
Despite threats from China, officials and elected representatives, including Cheng, Liu and Chen, have continued to stand firm and work for the country without fear, he said.
Citing the case of China-born Japanese lawmaker Hei Seki — who has been sanctioned by China and barred from entering the country — as an example, Lai said that Seki’s recent visit to Taiwan proved that the Republic of China (Taiwan’s official name) and the People’s Republic of China are not subordinate to each other.
Upon his arrival in Taipei on Tuesday, Seki said that his trip proved “Taiwan is not part of China, Taiwan is Taiwan.”
Lai said he wishes China’s leaders would understand that their military drills targeting Taiwan are by no means acts of peace, and that “united front” infiltration and cross-border repression of Taiwan would never achieve their goal of unification.
As commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Lai pledged to “safeguard the nation” and protect the lives and property of all citizens, never allowing China’s pressure or reach to extend into Taiwan.
At this critical moment, lawmakers across party lines should support the country by allowing defense-related bills and the central government’s general budget to proceed to committee review, he said.
This is the most basic responsibility and obligation of legislators to the nation and its people, he added.
